About

2048 is the tile-sliding puzzle phenomenon by Gabriele Cirulli. Swipe or use your arrow keys to slide every tile on the board at once — when two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one. It starts gently with 2s and 4s, but the board fills fast, and every careless move costs you space. Reaching 2048 takes planning: keep your biggest tile locked in a corner, build ordered chains toward it, and never break your structure for a quick merge. One of the most replayable five-minute puzzle games ever made.

Controls

Arrow keys to slide tiles. On mobile, swipe in any direction.

Tips

  • Pick one corner for your biggest tile and never move it.
  • Only swipe in two or three directions — avoid the one that breaks your corner.
  • Merge chains from small to large so the board stays open.
